About the Event
The recently adopted Guidelines for the Evaluation of Teaching and labor union contracts create opportunities for improving the evaluation of teaching. In this workshop, the Office of Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research provides a summary of recent changes related to promotion and advancement for Tenure Track Faculty, Non-Tenure Track Faculty, and Lecturers. The session reviews best practices for departments to plan for appropriate review, communicate plans with the departmental community, and support their faculty. It will include an exploration of sources of evidence of effective teaching including peer review of teaching, student feedback, and teaching portfolios.
